Meet Our Team
The famous Scott Goff is the founder of Goff's Equipment Service inc., which he started in Bakersville CT back in 1982. His hard work, dedication and passion for the industry eventually led him and his family to where they are today. Scott has had over 40 years of experience in the Construction and Power Equipment industry holding a variety of positions including sales and mechanical work. Along with the vast amount of knowledge he has with different brands and types of equipment Scott is also STIHL Gold certified, which is the highest level of STIHL training one can receive by traveling down to the largest plant in the U.S., located in Virginia Beach, and taking on a weeks worth of product and repair training. Since the company has grown and now has full time techs., parts advisers, and sales reps. that are overseen by his son Tim, Scott helps out where ever he can. The great deal of knowledge and experience he has with a variety of machinery and equipment always comes in handy when a customer is in need of assistance or advice. In his free time, Scott enjoys restoring antique cars and tractors and raising beef cattle. He lives in Bakersville with his wife Linda and their rat terrier, Jake.
Tim started Goff’s Equipment with his parents in September of 2007 and has been working within the company ever since. Tim grew up with an interest in farm and power equipment, purchasing and restoring his first antique tractor (an Oliver Row Crop 60) at 9 years old. Tim worked many different jobs growing up in New Hartford, CT while spending time earning his Eagle Scout badge in 2002. After attending Central Connecticut State University for Criminal Justice, Tim joined his parents starting Goff’s Equipment Service on Migeon Ave in Torrington, starting off as a salesman and working his way up to the General Manager position in 2014. Tim takes pride in hard work and his business, ensuring that Goff’s Equipment will be here to serve our fantastic customers for many more years to come. When Tim isn’t hard at work he enjoys spending time with his family, working around his house and tinkering on one of his many garage projects. Tim lives in New Hartford with his wife, Anna and their two children.
Linda is in charge of the day to day finances for the company. Before starting Goff’s up in 2007, Linda held many different positions within the community. Elected to 4 terms in the Town of New Hartford as Treasurer, helped with the finances here at Goff’s Eq. She also served as the Fire Tax collected in New Hartford for many years. She also has held different positions in the local schools and met many of our customers while working for a local doctor office. Scott and Linda began Goff’s Equipment in Bakersville, CT from 1982 to 1986 at which time they moved and life took them in different directions, until 2007 when this opportunity presented itself to them. Outside of work Linda loves to spend time with her grandchildren and driving her red VW Bug.
Jake has been with Goff's Equipment Service since the very beginning carrying out the role of "Goodwill Ambassador". He has recently been joined by his energetic side kick Daphne where they hold a variety of responsibilities including greeting customers, security duty and keeping an eye on Justin and Pete. During their free time a way from the job, Jake enjoys laying in the sun while Daphne can be seen running around the showroom looking for someone to play with!
Justin began as a sales representative in 2014, but has 20 years of experience in the field along with another 8 years in manufacturing and retail. He received a Bachelor's degree in Business with a concentration in Sales from Central Connecticut University and is STIHL Bronze certified and successfully completed Mahindra University. His enthusiastic attitude and great sense of humor gives customers a fun shopping experience from a sales rep. they will never forget! When Justin is not at the store, he enjoys working on his '77 Corvette and spending time with his wife and two year old daughter. Keep an out for him in the Goff's Equipment truck visiting customers all over the state of CT!
Pete has been apart of the Goff's family since 2016 years after receiving a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration from Southern New Hampshire University. He is STIHL Bronze Certified and has had a great deal of experience working in the landscape industry, allowing him to provide the proper knowledge and guidance on different equipment to both homeowners and professionals. His organization and marketing skills allows Pete to reach a wide customer base through his social media and online ads. Pete lives in Torrington with his dog Skip and Cat Handsome Dan. In his free time Pete enjoys going to the gym and spending time with friends and family.
Cole started working with us part time back when he was in high school attending Wamogo as a member of the Ag program and Tractor Restoration Team. After graduating he instantly became a full time tech., repairing and servicing lawn mowers, zero turn mowers, snow blowers and other small engine related equipment. Just this past year he has become our Boss Plow installation tech. as well. Although he has a lot on his plate at a young age, his has proven to put out quality work at an efficient rate. Over the last three years with Goff's Cole has become certified by Boss Plow, Kawasaki Engines and received the STIHL Silver certification. Cole lives in Torrington and enjoys snowmobiling, restoring garden tractors, and working on his cherished Chevy truck.
Jon has been with Goff's for over eight years as our head Parts Adviser, but has over 20 years of experience in the automotive and power equipment industry. He assists customers with looking up parts for a variety of brands and machines sold by Goff's but is also responsible for ordering and checking in parts as well. Jon oversees any parts that may be needed for repair work on customer machines as well. His attention to detail and great attitude makes him a pleasure to work with. Jon is STIHL Silver certified and successfully completed Mahindra Training School. He lives in Harwinton with his wife, two sons and daughter. He likes to spend his free time working on cars and attending car and antique tractor shows.
With the growth of equipment sales over the last few years it was necessary to hire a full time assembly technician. Greg came to us with experience in graphic design but has a great deal of experience with mechanical work, making him a great fit for the position. His responsibilities include assembling and prepping any sold customer equipment along with unloading trucks, and keeping the warehouse and side yard organized. His organization skills and attention to detail allow him to have sold machines built and functioning properly before being sent to their new home. Away from work, Greg enjoys spending time with his family and riding his motorcycle.
You will see Paul all over the state of Connecticut in our Goff's Equipment rollback truck delivering customers their newly purchased equipment and machines being serviced. Paul has a Class A CDL license making him very familiar with driving large commercial vehicles and all the rules and regulations that must be followed. He is very respectful of customers machines when loading and unloading and takes the time to properly strap them to the truck so they are delivered safely. He is very personable with customers and is happy to answer any questions he can when delivering their equipment. Paul is an avid sports fan and enjoys playing pool in his free time.
Ed joined the Goff’s team at the young age of 18 assisting with the construction of our new equipment repair shop. His great work ethic and attention to detail gained him a permanent spot on the Goff’s team transitioning him as an in store sales rep. Ed will be primarily assisting customers with purchasing new STIHL handheld equipment, Honda power equipment, Ariens snow blowers and Hustler and Cub Cadet mowers. He is very personable with customers and takes the time to answer any questions they may have about their new purchase. In his free time Ed enjoys riding dirt bikes and playing soccer.
Allie: Parts & Service Advisor
Allie has over 18 years of experience as a service representative in the automotive industry that she brings to the Goff's team! Her strong organization skills keeps our parts inventory well stocked and her great personality and communication skills keep customers satisfied and up to date on their service work. Outside of work, Allie enjoys collecting antiques and home decor and spending time with her husband and two cats, Rusty and Little Foot.
Brian: Service Technician Tractor/Agricultural Equipment
Brian fills the challenging position as our tractor/ag equipment technician. He is responsible for servicing and repairing all tractors and agricultural equipment that come through our shop doors. Brian has over 30 years of experience in the automotive industry as a technician working with different brands and styles of vehicles. He has also been active in farming throughout his life, giving him a strong background and understanding of a wide variety of tractors and farm equipment. When Brian isn’t working on tractors or equipment at Goff’s, you can find him working on his family farm or tinkering with his collection of antique cars.
